Today I was bored so I drew Du Juan? (I might be wrong about her name) a fashion model.

This was drawn in pen and then scanned for a digital enhancement... but I feel apparently very limited about my ability to enhance works with digital. I need more practice.

I have 2 different versions something very rough versus something more subtle I am looking for my style now.

P.S I was too lazy to do her hair and stuff. (she was wearing a hat anyway...)

if you didn't know I like drawing portraits, and these are my works in high school before OCAD(2 years ago? approximately?) and looking back my old stuffs, I have realized how much I got worsen in drawings.

I don't know what happened, but I do not think I can draw like this anymore.

-_-... I mean seriously this is ridiculous.

I think it is because I stopped doing life drawing -__-. I want togo back now...

Oh Boy, I am so witty... (sorry guys :-))

Anyway, I have been illustrating and doodling, then I just did this.

I am getting use to working with both Illustrator and Photoshop, and shaping my style...

This was inspired by other Vector artists, and I wanted to try it for a long time...

Once again, great free grunge paper texture adds to this illustration, oh boy what would I do

with out them....

Go Summer Boy! it is a parody of Go ayee scream Boy.

I feel that it is a bit over worked, but I still enjoyed experimenting and colour testing and so on.

Crazy Hatter!

My own version of crazy hatter; the character crazy hatter originated from a myth back in 19th century where part of hats were contaminated with mercury, and people who wore them had mercury getting into their nerves systems, and eventually go MAD.

This was a project for Harvey Chan's class and... first I did my illustration in vector, then printed them out and put them into a collage with acrylic backgrounds. I added hats with thermometer later.(the images were found in google ;( it is may be copyrighted????)

At this stage, I am still exploring and experimenting and I am still finding my own style.

so I have not been posting anything lately, although I could have...

Well I was busy. Busy doing School work you know...

I am just happy I am done everything, the exam was tough but you know... I really believe school isn't everything. I mean it's still important... but there is other things thats a lot more important than school, like friends and family.

I didn't do that well... in terms of marks, but I have improved and learned so much and also about my life. But then again, I don't want to be an emotional kid writing something too serious or depressing in his blog, I will stop my ranting here.

anyway,

I am thinking of doing some digital exploration during summer because I really love vector arts and digital.

And also finish my after effects movie: David Choi's "Grade Three" a true love story sang by a youtube singer David Choi. I am a fan of David Choi, I really love his musics and videos.

He makes videos likes this, he also make acoustic songs. They are really getting addictive though.

Go Ayee Scream BOy

my All-time favourite illustration so far from my works.

This was an another illustration project for Gary Taxali's class at OCAD.

The project was to illustrate something using 3 words from the random word list.

I have chosen Baby Timmy, Ice cream, and Fly.

And the theme I was going for was

"Go Ayee Scream Boy!" which is sort of a parody of "Go! Astro Boy!"

(Astro boy an old Japanese anime made by Osamu Tezuka, I think they made a brand new version in 3d last year? 2009?)

Astro boy was one of my favourite cartoons when I was a kid.

This illustration sort of reflects my inner nostalgia of my past memories.

(First I was going for a dirty-old looking poster, that's why I had unclean line works and etc)

But then I pushed it further and the result was this. I have redrawn the character, and applied half-tones. Fixed a composition and placements of fonts.

I do not prefer chalk pastel or traditional media... they are so muddy, messy and all over the place! Nevertheless, I am satisfied with this illustration because

I have always wanted to incorporate one of my character ( big head, big eyes, baby face...) into an illustration.
